The Village Board recently adopted standards for the installation of new driveways and any future reconstruction of existing driveways. Every lot shall be permitted one driveway access; a lot of a minimum 150 ft. width may have two drive accesses, subject to approval of the Village Engineer. A drive access shall be a minimum of 10 ft from the side lot line, or as required by the Village Engineer; A drive access shall be no closer than 50 ft from an adjacent intersection. Minimum width is 12 ft; maximum width at the right of way is 18 ft; maximum width at intersection with street is 28 ft. A drive access may not be enlarged to accommodate parking spaces in the front yard setback. There are specific specifications for asphalt, for concrete, and for other block material. NOTE: Concrete, paving bricks, or other block materials are not allowed within the right-of-way without a letter from the homeowner accepting responsibility for any future maintenance or replacement that may be associated with adjacent street maintenance. The letter will be recorded to notify future owners.
